Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This site is personal and simple. This policy is too. Here's what data is collected, why, and what you can do about it.

What data we collect

When you fill in a form on this site, whether contact, a quiz, or newsletter, we ask for your name and email. In quizzes, we also store your answer, so we can send you the full result.

Personal account (private area)

Creating an account is always optional. The whole site works without one. If you create one, we store your email and, if you choose to sign in with a password, only an irreversible cryptographic hash of it, never the password itself and never a way to recover it as readable text. We also store what you generate by using the account: content you save, reading progress, quiz results you choose to save, and your reading preferences. None of this is public or visible to anyone else. The account is entirely private, with no profile, username, or information visible to other people. You can delete your account at any time in Preferences, inside your private area, which also deletes all data tied to it.

What we use this data for

We use your data to reply to your contact message, or to send you the result of a quiz you took. We don't sell it. The only providers who can process it on my behalf, solely to run the site, are listed in the next section.

Technical service providers

We don't sell your data to anyone, and don't share it for third-party marketing purposes. For the site to work, a few strictly necessary technical providers process data on my behalf: Vercel, for hosting; Neon, for the database; and Resend, for sending emails, such as replying to a contact message or the account sign-in link. None of them use your data for their own marketing purposes.

Marketing and commercial partnerships

We only send you emails with reflections, news or occasional partnerships if you ticked that option explicitly and separately, when filling in a form. This choice is always distinct from simply receiving a quiz result. You can unsubscribe at any time, through the link in any such email, without needing to log in.

Who is responsible for this data

Muhammad Ibrahim is the sole controller responsible for the data collected on this site.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as it makes sense for the reason it was collected, for example for as long as you keep wanting marketing emails, or until you ask for it to be deleted.

Analytics and traffic tracking

I use my own analytics system, hosted on my own database, to understand how the site is used, never shared with or sold to third parties. I only start collecting this data after you accept the banner shown on the site; you can decline, or change your mind later by clearing the data stored in your browser. When you accept, I store: the page you visited, how long you stayed, where you came from (referrer), your IP address, your language and the device/browser you used, linked to an anonymous identifier for your browser. I keep this data for a maximum of 24 months, after which it's automatically deleted. You can request immediate deletion of your browsing data at any time, by email.

Search engine on /ask

The text you type on /ask is only searched within my own database (no external service or artificial intelligence involved). No login, name or email is needed to use this feature, and the question isn't linked to your identity.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to know what data is held about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Just send an email. If you have an account, you can also delete it directly in Preferences, inside your private area, without needing to email anyone.
